Please read this message entirely…

As you all know, our staff has been working tirelessly the last few months to try and make the Crossing work. We have fought hard to keep this going and have discussed at length modifications that could be made to ensure we are within the current guidelines of the area.

Today we are extremely saddened to announce that the 13th Annual Mackinac Bridge Crossing scheduled for Friday September 11 is canceled for 2020. We know and understand how much this event means to all of you and we feel the same. Please know this decision was not made lightly by anyone involved in this event. This is the hardest announcement for us to make. We have held many meetings to discuss Phase 5 limits for indoor/outdoor events, and in the end, the cards were not in our favor and we could not determine a feasible way to have the event, while abiding by health department requirements. We don’t expect this, but if in the next month something drastically changes that would by some miracle make the Crossing possible, we will do everything in our power to make it happen.

We understand there will be strong feelings from this announcement. We want to hear from you, and we read all comments on our posts. This news will affect everyone differently and we respect everyone’s opinions, but we do ask that political comments are kept off this post, as they will be removed.

We have appreciated your positive thoughts during the past few months, and your continued support of this amazing event. We want to thank the cities of St. Ignace and Mackinaw City, along with the Mackinac Bridge Authority and the many police departments, fire departments and business owners that have supported this event. We also want to thank the club reps, who have stayed in close contact with us the past few months. We WILL be back in 2021 (tentative date 9/10/21). We hope you will all be there to join us!

We encourage you, if you’re able, to keep your plans for that week and visit the beautiful Straits Area. Our staff is keeping our hotel rooms and will be up to enjoy all that area has to offer and support the local businesses that are being hit hard by these difficult decisions in a year that has brought many challenges. Visit in the shops in Mackinaw City and St. Ignace, take a trip to the Island, climb Castle Rock, get dinner at several tasty restaurants, walk the Boardwalk to the lighthouse in St. Ignace, or sit by the water and enjoy the area. If you’re keeping your plans, let us know! Perhaps we can get together and meet new participants or reconnect with ones that cross every year.

Please continue to watch this page, as there will be additional announcements regarding apparel orders and people currently registered in the next couple of days. If you have any immediate questions, please comment or message us.

The pre order deadline has been extended to July 20. Pre-orders will be placed regardless if the event is canceled. We will be unable to issue refunds on pre-ordered apparel after July 20, so if you need to cancel your order please notify us by that date.

We are anticipating pre-orders arriving the first week of August. We will keep you posted on updates. Thanks for your continued support of the event!

As of today, July 7, the Crossing is still a go. We've spoken to a few of our area contacts and we're cautiously optimistic.

Our hope is to have a firm go/no go by July 22. If you have not registered yet, we're asking you to wait until the announcement on July 22 before registering.

The late fee will be waived this year. The deadline for new buddy seats has been extended to August 1, with completion of any modifications by August 15.

There WILL be changes to the Crossing this year. This is unavoidable if we want to have an event. These will be discussed with the club reps first at our meeting on July 25 and then will be posted on Facebook and our website afterwards.

We know how important this event is to everyone, especially this year. Please know we at Owosso Tractor, the cities, the Bridge Authority and all involved are doing everything we can to try and hold this event, while abiding by guidelines and practicing safe protocols.

We appreciate your continued support. Keep the positive vibes coming and stay tuned to this page for further updates.
