Club Rep Welcome Email

If you're receiving this email, we have your club signed up for the 2021 Crossing. There are a lot of updates in this email, so please read through and let us know if you have any questions.

CROSSING DATE

We know how disappointed everyone was last year when the Crossing was canceled. Bob has been working with the Mackinac Bridge Authority and the cities and they have agreed to let us cross on Saturday this year, to Cross on the 20th anniversary of 9/11. We are very excited and want to thank the Bridge Authority for allowing us a one-time Saturday event.

COVID

As of right now, we are proceeding as normal for the Crossing. We are monitoring the COVID situation in Michigan on a weekly basis. You will be the first to know of any changes to the Crossing. We fully expect to still be in some type of federal and state mandate in September. In order to have the event, we are required to follow state and federal guidelines. This may include masks, hand sanitizing station, social distancing, self-check for symptoms, etc.  We are still in the process of determining what that looks like, and it will more than likely evolve in the next several months.  The disclaimer and participant forms will have a statement that everyone agrees to comply with any mandates that are in effect on the day of the Crossing. We are working on updating those shortly. We will discuss this in more detail during the rep meeting. Thank you for your patience as we navigate through this.

REP MEETING

The rep meeting is Saturday, May 22 at Bennington Township Hall between Owosso and Perry.  Check in will start at 11:00, lunch will be served at 12:00 and meeting will begin about 12:30. More information and an invitation will come.  We strongly encourage everyone to attend.  There will be a lot to talk about (Crossing on a different date, different schedule, COVID protocols, etc.). Due to current limits inside, we are asking that only 1 person from every club be in attendance, if possible. We understand exceptions may need to be made and that's okay. We'll be contacting everyone for an RSVP soon.

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION

We are pushing back participant registration from May 1 to May 15.  We hope this gives us a bit more time to watch the COVID situation in Michigan.  We don't anticipate pushing it again. Participants will need to register online with a credit card, via mail or in person in our store.  We will not be able to process registrations or payments over the phone. The entry fees remain the same as last year and include all applicable tax.

  • Drivers $60

  • Buddy Riders (Previously Approved Seat) $50

  • Buddy Riders (New Seat) $55   Must have registration and seat pictures in by July 1

CLUB REP SITE

On our website (www.mackinacbridgecrossing.com) there is a link for "Club Reps Only."  If you click on that it will take you to a page with more information for reps only as well as your rosters. This section of the site is password protected. The password is cross2021. Please don't share this with anyone that isn't going to help you with registrations. Please check this page often, as club updates will sent via email and posted there.

CLUB ROSTERS

Each club has a roster that includes everyone who has registered. When we canceled the event last year, some people chose to save their registrations for this year. We are working on adding those people to your 2021 rosters. We are more than halfway through and expect to have the rest completed by this weekend.  Please review those names and let us know if you believe someone is missing.  Please keep an eye on these rosters after we open participant registration.  Column B is "Notes TO Rep." We will add any questions or notes we have for you in this column. You can respond and add your own comments in Column A "Notes FROM Rep."  This spreadsheet is updated in real time, so will see your notes as you type them. If you have any questions accessing your roster, please let us know.

INSURANCE AND DISCLAIMER

By July 1 we will need a copy of your insurance and disclaimer form. We are working on the wording of the disclaimer form and will send out a copy soon.  The proof of insurance needs to be an Accord form. Please don't send a copy of your policy or another document. Our insurance company requires the Accord Form. It should include the active dates and at least $1 million liability insurance. We have attached a sample copy of this form to this email.  Under the "Certificate Holder" section please have the insurance company include "Owosso Tractor Repair & Parts" and "Mackinac Bridge Authority."

SEPTEMBER 11 CEREMONY

We are working on putting together a ceremony for the morning of the Crossing to remember 9/11. Please look for more information on that soon.

We know this was A LOT of information and there will be more coming as we update documents for you and plan the rep meeting. If you have any questions, email is the best form of communication.  The second-best way of communication is texting Rebecca at 989-721-6882.    Beginning next week, we will be checking this email on a daily basis.

We appreciate all you do to help this event run smoothly and we are crossing our fingers and toes we can proceed as normal! Bring on 2021!

Rebecca
